Routes offered on this trail
The Coast to Coast Path has was given a National Trail status in August 2022. Created by Alfred Wainwright in 1973. This walk is already enjoyed by many but it is hoped that with the National Trail status, the route will have more maintenance and better signage. Walked from the West Coast to the East Coast. The path runs from St Bees, on the Irish Sea Coast, through the picturesque lake district, to end on the North Sea coast at Robin Hood's Bay. The route can be walked as a whole or split into two sections.
There are areas of this route which can be quite demanding, due to the rugged nature of the terrain and the distance between dwellings.
A very popular walk due to the outstanding beauty of the scenery and the variety of terrain. Spread over three National Parks. The path follows steep rugged mountains through the Lake District, with breath taking scenery, winding valleys of the Yorkshire Dales and vast expanse of heather moorland in the North Yorkshire Moors.
